DECEMBER 14, 2022 - Broken Yolk Cafe (by Barry Robson)
Fifteen artists and guests attended our end-of-year festivities today., and there was lots of fun and friendship.
Phaya welcomed the guests, and asked them to introduce themselves. Art media varied from oil, acrylic and watercolor painting to assemblage pieces. Phaya invited the guests to become members of the group.
After lunch, the white elephant gift exchange drew lots of laughs, groans, oohs! and aahs! as some great pieces were selected, stolen, and restolen... before ending up in the lap of a lucky members. Nice going, everyone.
A HUGE THANK YOU TO PHAYA FOR NOT ONLY PROVIDING THE BUBBLY AND THE FESTIVE HEADGEAR AND JEWELRY TODAY, BUT ESPECIALLY FOR ALL SHE HAS DONE FOR THE GROUP IN THE PAST YEAR. WE REALLY APPRECIATE IT. [She and hubby Bill looked splendid in their designer holiday glasses].
Happy Holidays to everyone, and see you next year.

NOVEMBER 30, 2022 - Broken Yolk Cafe (by Barry Robson)
Ten members attended today, five bringing pieces for discussion (see photos below). The pieces provided for lively discussion of techniques, including whether or not to paint the edges of wrap-around canvases; and use of old drip paintings as background for new work.
Phaya mentioned again that members need to seriously consider showing up for meetings at the restaurant, even if it is once a month, so we can continue to have the space available without a surcharge. [Things for everyone to consider: (i) We may not have an AGNC if support/attendance does not improve (ii) How will you feel, without the support of an art group? (iii) What if Phaya gets discouraged and abandons the group? (iv) FYI, the restaurant offers us a $9.99 special menu, and includes coffee for $1. I doubt you can find a better deal. (v) If you need a New Year's resolution, this could be it.]
Don't forget the AGNC Holiday Party on December 14th at 10:30 am. Bring a wrapped piece of your art for the fun gift exchange.
There will be NO Zoom meeting in December.

The COAL Open Show exhibit closes soon, so if you have not seen it, you'd better hurry.

NOVEMBER 10, 2021 - Broken Yolk Cafe
Once again, sixteen members attended, bringing 17 pieces of art for discussion and critique. Pieces included ceramic and metal sculptures, oil, acrylic, and collage paintings. Phaya welcomed Frank, who, after visiting briefly during the last meeting, decided to bring a painting and join us.
The restaurant where we have held previous Christmas meetings is no longer in business. Phaya asked members to suggest an alternative location.
Pico reported that he has not yet been advised when the Oceanside Library will be taking down our exhibit (pending followu). Phaya reminded us about the Off Track Gallery, OMA, Encintas and COAL upcoming entry deadlines. See Bulletin and Gallery pages for further information.
The next Zoom meeting is this Monday, Nov. 15 (next week), and the next in-person meeting will be December 8th. (No meeting November 24th.)
